Make sure you are filling the correct chamber with the correct colour ink.
To do this assemble the needle and syringe; do not fill with any ink.
Insert the needle into the filling hole, withdraw the needle and wipe onto a clean white tissue, this will now confirm which colour to fill into which chamber. Do this for each chamber.
Assemble the needle and syringe, fill with appropriate coloured ink.
Very slowly inject ink into each chamber until the sponge is full.
A little ink might come out of the top when full,so cover up the other two holes while filling one.
Replace the cartridge and run 1-3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.
If necessary leave the cartridge in the printer for up to 8 hours.
Note: Some of the newer Lexmark cartridges have very small holes and the needle will not fit into it. In that case just use the thumb drill provided and drill the holes larger.
If necessary leave the cartridge in the printer for up to 8 hours.
The ink level guage will not read full after refilling.
If one or more of the colours are not flowing properly, this could be due to air in the cartridge.
Put the needle & syringe back in the inlet holes and pull the plunger up about 1/2ml,this should release the trapped air.
Repeat for all three colours.
If the cartridge is blocked, stand in 1/4 inch of hot water until the ink begins to flow.
Dry with a soft cloth and return to the printer & run 1-3 cleaning cycles as per your printer.
If necessary leave cartridge in printer for up to 24 hours. |
