Your printer MUST be switched OFF before you continue to read these instructions. These cartridges maybe mixed with old or alternative brand cartridges but bear in mind colours may not be right .

1. Remove the existing HP cartridge carefully.

2. Refill your new cartridge firstly by placing a bung in the hole marked ‘AIR’.You must always use a bung in this hole when: a) FILLING THE CARTRIDGE b) PURGING THE CARTRIDGE.
Once filling and purging is complete you need to swap the bung over and put it in the hole marked ‘INK’. This leaves the AIR hole free and the cartridge can draw in air when in use.
ONLY USE ONE BUNG IN EACH CARTRIDGE WHEN THE CARTRIDGES ARE IN THE PRINTER.
Fill the cartridge by S-L-O-W-L-Y injecting the ink into the hole marked ‘Ink’ using a syringe with a NEEDLE.DO NOT INSERT THE NEEDLE MORE THAN 5MM INTO THE CARTRIDGE OR YOU MIGHT PIERCE THE INTERNAL DIAPHRAM. You may wish to hold the cartridge at a slight angle as you do this, to allow the in to flow into the cartridge properly.

3. ONCE THE CARTRIDGE ABOUT ¾ FULL OF INK, IT IS CRUCIAL TO INSERT AN EMPTY SYRINGE WITHOUT A NEEDLE INTO THE INK PORT OF THE CARTRIDGE, PRESSING ON IT AND MAKING SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD SEAL. WHILST HOLDING THE CARTRIDGE UPRIGHT, YOU MUST NOW QUICKLY DRAW BACK AND PUSH FORWARD ON THE SYRINGE ABOUT 6 TIMES TO REMOVE ANY AIR LOCK WHICH OFTEN OCCURS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CARTRIDGE NEAR OUTLET PORT.IT IS NORMAL TO DRAW A SMALL AMOUNT OF INK INTO THE SYRINGE AND TO SEE BUBBLES IN THE CARTRIDGE AS A RESULT OF THIS PROCESS.

4. Once filled and purged and the bung can be swapped over and placed in the hole marked ‘INK’, each cartridge must then be placed into its relevant place in the printer, carefully and one at a time, whilst checking that each cartridge is seated correctly. It is very easy to misalign a cartridge so carefully check the alignment of each cartridge, making sure each cartridge is aligned with its relevant groove. Failure to do this will mean that your printer will not recognise the cartridge(s).

5. Once this is complete you can power up your printer and the printer will indicate that all cartridges are full.

6. When you come to refill your cartridges again, you will not have to undertake the procedures in sections 3 & 5 unless you have let your cartridges run very low of ink. This is a once only procedure for the very first time you receive your cartridges. Whenever you need to refill a cartridge just repeat these steps or refill the cartridges whist they are in the printer. Whenever your ink levels reach 20% you can reset the ink levels by removing a cartridge and re-fitting it, or switching the printer off and on again. The ARC (Automatic Reset Chip) then automatically resets and indicates your ink levels are at 100%.
